About Us

ResponsiPet was founded in Hayling Island, South Hampshire by Liz Procter who thought it very important to educate children on how to care for their pets correctly. After witnessing many accounts of animal neglect by owners who simply did not give their pets the correct level of care, it was clear that education was needed. Parents often take on the responsibility of the child’s animal when the child loses interest. Children do not understand the level of commitment and responsibility involved with caring for an animal.

ResponsiPet was originally set up to educate these children who already have pets and those that may want one in the future.

Now, however, ResponsiPet have extended their services to include adults too.

Liz, with a degree in ‘Animal Welfare and Life Sciences’, is also a qualified ‘Pet Psychologist’ and ‘Animal Assisted Therapist’. She set up ResponsiPet with the  aim of encouraging people to learn what is required of them in order for their pet to have its needs met and survive and be happy.
