About Us
ResponsiPet was recently founded by Liz Procter who thought it very important to educate children on how to care for their pets correctly. Liz has witnessed many accounts of animal neglect by owners who simply did not give their animal the care it needed. Parents often take on the responsibility of the child’s animal when the child loses interest. Children often do not understand the commitment and responsibility involved with caring for an animal. ResponsiPet was set up to educate these children who already have pets and those that may want one in the future.
Liz, with an extensive college and university background in animal care, management, welfare and life science, hopes children will be encouraged to understand what is required of them in order for their pet to survive and be happy.
ResponsiPet follows the national curriculum key stages 1 and 2 (for 7 to 11 year olds) and covers everything from basic feeding to health checks and diseases. Go to our ‘classes’ page for more details.
